Liebster Awards

This was sent to me from Rachel Lester (not2normal.blogspot.com)
I have no idea how to tag people. Soo if your interested you can do the questions. If not it's all good cuz I'm not even sure what I'm doing. Haha.

1. What's up?  Seriously, what's happening right when you type this?
Currently I am watch He's just not that into you on tv, while cuddling on the couch with my dog.

2. How did you come up with your blog name?
I am obsessed with my caboodle because it makes me feel like the 90s girl I am hints the name. My Beauty Box ;)

3. What is your favorite part about blogging?
I like IG blogging better. I can't easily blog on my iPad. And have to jump from my phone to my iPad to my computer. It's a lot of work. Lol. If it was easier I probably wouldn't neglect my blog so much. But my favorite part is learning and sharing.

4. Least favorite?
Opps kind of just answered that.

5. What's the very first outfit you can remember wearing?
Hmmmmm in my life? Not sure if this is the first but one I liked was the 90s skirts with the long knit shorts that came down to the knees. I had one of those in black with bright colors splattered all over it. And those crazy hair Barrett's that looked like slinkys on your head. Yeah I liked those. Those were cool.

6.  What's the last makeup product you bought?
Mac lipsticks today 🙈

7.  Did you have an 'awkward' phase growing up?  Describe it!
Yes. The whole thing. Lol. I'm still awkward to this day.

8.  What's your all-time favorite movie?
Spanglish. Don't know why.

9.  What're you wearing as you type this? (how creepy does that sound, hah)
Slippers and two sweaters because I live in Michigan and it's cold. And a blanket. Lol.

10. It's the weekend, do you go out, or prefer to stay in?  Why?
Ummm in the winter I stay in. Even on my birthday (January) we have had blizzards here all winter so no crashing for me.

11. What's your all-time favorite song?
I don't have one. Too hard to pick.

My Eyeliner Tips

So I get a lot of ladies that come into my job and ask for an eyeliner that does not smear or come off, and what I actually tell them and what I want to tell them are two different things.... Come on people I have tried cheap drug store brands and I have tried expensive beauty store brands and I have honestly rarely ever had a problem.

First off, to get your eye liner not to smear, or flake off.... DO NOT TOUCH IT.

Secondly, their are tons of different kinds of eyeliner, find one that works for you and fits you.

Pencil, Retractable Pencil, Liquid (has multiple types of brushes), Gel, Powder...

I like liquid eyeliner for my top lid, it is much easier to apply and gives a darker and solid line over a pencil.  For my bottom lid I usually use a pencil eyeliner and/or shadow.

Now tips for getting your eyeliner to stay on your water line, when I started my job everyone recommended the Makeup Forever Aqua liner, which is suppose to be smudge proof, water proof... ect. But I found that even alone on my water line it still instantly comes off.
So to get it to stay here is what I do: First off make sure that your water line is dry, you can do this by wiping it off with a q-tip.  Next I use a black eyeliner pencil on the bottom waterline rim, and get a nice solid line.  Finally I take a powder, usually I do a shadow color but sometimes I do just a basic black, and I lightly pat the shadow over top of the pencil, in my bottom eyelashes, and in the top eyelashes as well. Gives my eyes a nice lined look.

So here is my end result, just a nice soft result.
Products Used:
Naked 3 palette for liner and shadow
Used MUFE Black Aqua Eyes Eyeliner
Benefit They're Real Mascara
L'oreal Magic Nude Foundation
Lorac Rose Blush
Elf Baked Shadow in Enchanted for a Highlighter
Pixi Beauty Bronzer in Subtly Suntouched for Contour
BareMinerals Hydrating Mineral Veil
Didn't do my eyebrows today, was too lazy

Winged Liner Practice Day.

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and a great new year, I haven't been posting much on my blog, been busy with the holidays and work.  Now that the holidays are behind us I should hopefully have some extra free time.

And since my birthday is tomorrow I got to go to the lovely Secretary of State to renew my plates and license and got to take a new picture. Spent all morning getting ready and looking nice. But I was still unhappy with my photo. Definitely need to focus on losing some weight and getting healthy.

Since their has been a blizzard in Michigan the past two days I have some free time to play with my makeup. Practicing my winged liner today since that's one of my weaknesses. Actually got it to look pretty nice today. Wish it could look like that on days I actual am around people. Haha. Soooo I'm sharing it on here instead.
Its not perfect but I think it looks pretty good. So Im happy with it!!!

If you have trouble with winged eye liner like I do, go on YouTube and check out some tutorials, and practice practice practice, its the only way to get better, GOOD LUCK!!!

INSIGHT on IPSY

This is NOT from me this is straight from IPSY for all you ladies that get products you don't like:

blog.ipsy.com

Introducing ipsyMatch!

You’re no carbon copy, so why should your Glam Bag be? Our team at ipsy has been working hard to create ipsyMatch, a personalization tool that uses the results from your profile, your Beauty Quiz, and your activity on ipsy.com to create a Glam Bag filled with the best beauty finds just for you, month after month!

We put ipsyMatch to work in a BIG way with your May “Spring Fling” Glam Bag. With 14 different products to choose from, we determined the best picks for you. You told us whether or not you like self-tanner, if you wear lipstick or lipgloss (or both!), your skin tone, and what type of hair you have, and we put all of that information together to make a Glam Bag we thought you would love!

Since this was our first time customizing so many products, we know it won’t be perfect. In some cases, we were not able to match every single product with your profile, so we sent you a bag that had the most products that we thought you would love.

If you have your eye on something that you did not receive in your bag, we encourage you to check out our Swap Forum at http://mygl.am/glammieswapforum where you can trade items with other subscribers. Also, be sure to improve your chances of being better matched in the future by making sure your beauty style and preferences are updated in our Beauty Quiz. If you need to, you can re-take the quiz here: http://www.mygl.am/retakequiz.

We are continuously working on ipsyMatch and it will continue to get better and better every month. We want to hear what you think, and if you have any questions, suggestions, or feedback, don’t hesitate to tell us! Head to our facebook fanpage at http://facebook.com/ipsyand leave us a post or e-mail ipsyCare at http://help.ipsy.com!

November Ipsy Bag

Finally I am off the Ipsy waiting list and received my first bag this month and I love it. I got products that I have never heard of and would have never tried before, and they were all makeup products (except for one nail polish) YAY!! Ive seen a lot of people complain about getting too many skin care or hair care products, which I understand. I much rather get the makeup as well, nail polish is awesome too. But the main reason I signed up for Ipsy is to try stuff that I would never usually try, plus its an awesome deal.

I looked up all the products that I received in mine and to buy all of them would have been $75.00 thats not even including a shipping cost. So for $10.00 including shipping your getting an amazing deal!!!
Plus if I ever get stuff I don't like I can just give it away, or gift it to someone.

Swatches from left to right:
1. Be a Bombshell in Hot Damn (Lip Crayon)
2. Starlooks in Topaz (Eyeliner)
3. Pixi in Subtly Suntouched (Bronzer)
4. bh cosmetics - Galaxy Chic in Aphrodite (Baked Eyeshadow)
5. .em michelee phan in Showstopper (Sheer Lipstick)
6. (Not swatched) Nailtini in Champagne (Nail Polish)

Pixi Bronzer, LOVE it!!

Definitely not a color I usually use, but I still like it, the whole palette is fun and colorful (pictured below)

This is the .em michelle phan lipstick very buttery and sheer, an easy and no fuss lipstick.

The Galaxy Chic Palette on sale currently for $14.95

Maleficent MAC 2014

Excited to see today that Disney is coming out with Maleficent the Movie on May 30, 2014. I absolutely love Disney movies, as I grew up watching them, and love that they have been remaking the cartoons into live-action movies.
Mac will be collaborating with Disney on a line of makeup. These are some of the photos that I found when I looked online, hoping that this is some insight into what we can look forward to for colors in the makeup line by Mac. I love this lip color and the intense color of the eye shadow.

These pictures are from the Evil Villians line that Mac did in 2010, in a cartoon version, the Maleficent line consisted of deep purples, plums, and blues.

The new Mac collection will be limited-edition and include 11 pieces, and I hope that it is released before the movie so I can of coarse purchase it and wear it to the movie.
